"Antex Shigella Vaccine Safe and Immunogenic"

Antex Biologics has completed the first phase of clinical testing on its experimental vaccine to prevent Shigella sonnei infection, which is caused by the consumption of contaminated food and water. The vaccine was well tolerated and produced no serious side effects, according to the trial. The study was conducted at the Johns Hopkins University Vaccine Testing Unit in Baltimore and funded under a U.S. Army contract.
