I have received additional information re: date of death in those cases where death was unknown and have made the additions in red.  If I missed something, it is also added in red.

Added 7/21/02

VAERS ID 106654/107121    A one year old received the Varcel vaccine on 1/5/98.  A few days post vaccination, he broke out with a topical rash.  On the 18th, their doctor was notified @ home from ER-parents heard their son gasp, he was having a seizure; was taken to ER.  (There were two reports, so it's a little confusing - says in the second that at the hospital he had a seizure, experienced respiratory arrest and then died.  Also mentioned the possibility of viral encephalitis.  Had a temperature of 102, "R" (respiration) and vomited; diagnosed roseola, had shrill scream.)   He died on the 19th, 14 days after vaccination.  (New York)

VAERS ID 110547  A 74 year-old man received the TD vaccine on 4/7/98.  He died the same day. (Michigan)

VAERS ID 110712  A 23 year old man received the TD vaccine on 1/15/98.  14 (or 15?) days post vaccination he died of seizure disorder.  Had a 2 year history of seizures, most recently determined to be epilepsy.  (Massachusetts)

VAERS ID 111980/113661  A one-year old received the Varcel and HIBV vaccines on 5/11/98.  At 5AM on the 15th, mom made a call to report that her daughter was unresponsive and had been vomiting for 2 days and increasingly lethargic.  She was advised to call 911, was taken to the hospital and resuscitation attempted.  It was originally thought to be myocarditis, but now thought to be meningitis.  Had seizure(s)(?).  Noted hepatitis with multifocal inflammation.  Also noted "allergic reaction".  She died 4 days after vaccination.  (Maryland)

VAERS ID 112335  A 38 year-old man received the Varcel vaccine on 4/27/98.  He had been exposed to chickenpox 12 weeks prior to "first visit".  Varicella IGG test was negative on 4/25/98.  He received the vaccine and there were no subsequent symptoms.  Patient was found lifeless on 5/4/98, 7 days after receiving the vaccination, while taking a nap.  Autopsy was performed.  (Hawaii)

VAERS ID 112819  A 2-year-old received the Varcel, MMR and HIBV vaccines on 7/6/98.  6 days later he was put to bed and was normal prior to bedtime.  The next day he was found dead, 7 days post vaccination.  The reporting nurse say he did not have any fever or respiratory problems noted at bedtime;  no autopsy was ordered per family request.  (Michigan)

VAERS ID 113662/112990  A one-year-old received a Varcel vaccine on 7/1/98 that had expired 4/8/98.  On 7/11/98 he got a fever and emesis (vomited once) and was given APAP and fever went down;  next morning he continued sick and fussy and by noon had blue extremities and lips; went to ER; had full cardiac arrest with sever coagulopathy; diagnoses meningococcal meningitis.  He died 7/13/98, twelve days post vaccination.  (Montana)

VAERS ID 113717  A 53-year-old man received the HepB vaccine on 5/20/98.  6 days later he died of lived failure.  (Tennessee)

VAERS ID 113730/113718  CONFLICTING VAERS INFO.  Although according to VAERS, these are supposed to be reports on the same child, the vaccination dates, onset dates and dates of death differ. 

VAERS ID 115056/115054  An 83-year-old man received the FLU vaccine on 10/8/98.  No adverse events were observed at the flu clinic.  The hospital reported he received and approximately 30 minutes later collapsed at home.  He was brought to the hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.  In other words, he within minutes or hours of receiving the vaccine.  (Massachusetts)

VAERS ID 115255  An 83-year-old man received the FLU vaccine on 10/13/98.  The next day he committed suicide with a gunshot wound to the head.......????? There must be more to this story or why would they have reported it to VAERS? (Kentucky)

VAERS ID 115468/115260  A 77-year-old man received the FLU vaccine on 10/21/98.  He complained of vague symptoms of not feeling well, had a temperature of 102.4 and died the day following the vaccination.  (Massachusetts)

VAERS ID 115514  An 86-year-old woman received the FLU vaccine on 10/19/98 at approximately 8:30AM.  She was pronounced dead on the front steps of her home by a medical examiner between 1 and 2PM that same day.  (Mississippi)

VAERS ID 115695  A 67-year-old woman received the FLU vaccine one 10/1/98.  She died 10 hours later.  Although the exact date of the batch was not noted, the batch number quoted was the current season's batch.  (Massachusetts)

VAERS ID 115910  A 61-year-old man received the FLU vaccine on 10/29/98.  It says the adverse reaction onset date was the same day and that he "died post cardiac arrest; patient had no allergic or anaphylactic reaction immediately to the vax;" but it doesn't say when he died (although it sounds like it was the same day).  (Virginia)

VAERS ID 115912  A 52-year-old woman received the FLU vaccine on 10/28/98 at 4PM.  At approximately 6PM she was taken to the ER with sudden onset of chest discomfort.  She died the next day, 1 day post vaccination (maybe less than 24 hours).  (Ohio)

VAERS ID 116613  A one-year-old received the HIBV, MMR and OPV vaccines on 9/17/98.  No adverse signs or symptoms were observed by parent post immunization.  He died 6 days post vaccination.  (Ohio)

VAERS ID 116614/115913  A 21-year-old woman received the FLU vaccine on 10/28/98 between 6 & 8AM.  10 minutes later she vomited and felt bad.  Went home and continued complaining of not feeling well.  The next day she drove her husband to work and when she arrived in the parking lot, lost consciousness and stopped breathing.  She died within 24 hours of receiving the vaccine.  (Montana)

VAERS ID 116616  A one-year-old received the MMR and Varcel vaccines on 10/7/98.  He died 9 days post vaccination of an "unexplained" death; autopsy finding of hydronephrosis and renal insufficiency not felt to be related to his death.  (Vermont)

VAERS ID 116465  A 78-year-old man received the FLU and PPV vaccines on 10/16/98.  There was no immediate reaction, not adverse reaction at the site, no elevated pulse or temperature, but he died 9 days post vaccination.

VAERS ID 116466  A 79-year-old man received the FLU and PPV vaccines on 10/14/98.  Although he had no immediate reaction, no adverse reaction at the site, no acute distress, his resident found him with no blood pressure, no pulse and initiated CPR.  He died 6 days post vaccination.  (Ohio)

VAERS ID 116744  A 47 year-old man received the FLU and TD vaccines on 10/20/98.  Less than 24 hours post vaccination he arrived at the ER via ambulance with CPR in progress.  He was reported unconscious and unresponsive by family who called the ambulance.  CPR was discontinued as of 8:15 AM.  No post-mortem exam was done.  He died, it says, on the same day, although that would mean he either got the vaccine early in the morning or the AM should be PM?  (Texas)

VAERS ID 116801  A 67-year-old woman received the FLU and PPV vaccines on 10/16/98.  She died within 24 hours; had not apparent allergic response.  (New Jersey)

VAERS ID 117068  An 87-year-old man received the FLU vaccine on 11/13/98.  Although he had been diagnosed with  respiratory infection on 10/18/98, by 10/28/98 he was declared symptom free.  The next day he started getting symptoms.  Was at some point diagnosed with "chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with exacerbation", admitted to the hospital on the day following the vaccination and died on the 15th or 16th (conflicting VAERS data), either two or three days post vaccination.  (California)  

VAERS ID 119449  A 90-year-old woman received the PPV vaccine on 8/18/98.  She was admitted to the hospital 9/15/98 for increased shortness of breath, cough;  the cough began right after the vaccination.  Question whether she was allergic - there was no rash, no pharyngeal edema.  She died on 9/16/98, 28 days post vaccination.  (Louisiana)

VAERS ID 119736/114109  An infant received the HepB, HIBV and IPV vaccines on 6/16/98.  

VAERS ID 120158  A 96-year-old woman received the PPV vaccine on 12/16/98.  On the 29th of December she had shortness of breath, loose productive cough, elevated temperature.  On the 30th she had the same symptoms and was given a chest x-ray.  She died on 1/5/99 at the hospital, 20 days post vaccination.  There was no autopsy.  (New York)

VAERS ID 127169  A one-year old received the HBHepB and OPV vaccines on 12/18/98.  4 days later he died at home; autopsy findings were available prior to completion of cause of death:  a findings consistent w/asphyxial suffocation.  (Kentucky)

VAERS ID 133689/117373  CONFLICTING REPORTS An 8-year-old received the HepB vaccine on 10/28/98, probably.  Probably died 3 days later, as per 2nd report.   (New York)

Added 2/19/02

VAERS ID 113404    An infant received the Hep B vaccine on 8/7/98.  The next day he was DOA, presumably SIDS. (North Carolina)

VAERS ID 115698  An infant received the Hep B vaccine on 10/6/98.  2 days later he died of SIDS.  (Illinois)

VAERS ID 112250  An infant received the Hep B vaccine on 6/15/98.  She died of SIDS less than 24 hours p/vax.  (New York)

VAERS ID 114427/117191  An infant received the Hep B vaccine 9/15/98 and she died on the following morning of "presumptive SIDS".  (New York)

VAERS ID 117908  An infant received the FLU vaccine on 10/27/98.  14 days later she experienced severe vomiting, glucose of 92, "felt prob viral age" (?).  On the 25th of November, seen for "OM".  4 days later was cranky, some vomiting with normal exam; slight weight loss .  On the third of December, vomited again 2 times, diagnosed DKA w/glucose 1310 - and that's all it says.  She died 46 days post vaccination.  (California)

VAERS ID 113915  An infant received the Hep B vaccine on 9/3/98 and died in the car ride home.  No preceding symptoms or signs.  (Minnesota)

VAERS ID 110683  An infant received the HepB vaccine on 4/16/98.  6 days later mom called clinic after an early lunch and told the nurse that she got up this morning, and patient was not moving.  Mom attempted rescue breathing with no response.  Patient transported to hospital and he is now dead.  (North Carolina)

VAERS ID 118117  An infant received the HepB vaccine on 5/29/98.  The next day he was sweating, irritable, crying, had a swollen injection site, and was hard to console.  Was put to bed at 2AM and was found dead at 4AM.  Paramedics tried to revive; he was taken to the hospital but all attempts to revive the patient were fruitless approximately 16 hours post vaccination.  (West Virginia)

Added 7/15/01

VAERS ID 116928  A three year old received the FLU vaccine on 9/29/98.  The next day she felt drowsy and lethargic; was taken to the ER.  The mom was told it could be a reaction to the flu vaccine.  2 days later, at 4AM, she began screaming for her mom - she was shaking. The mom reported seizure.  She vomited, lost consciousness and stopped breathing; diagnosed with acute hem pancreatitis.  She died 2 days post vaccination.  (New York)

VAERS ID 117475    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 10/24/98.  He was seen on 11/6/98 for thrush and put on nystatin.  On the 18th, 25 days post vaccination, he died of SIDS.  (New Hampshire)

VAERS ID 117423    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 11/30/98.  The next day he died of apparent SIDS (around 40 hour post vaccination).  (Ohio)

VAERS ID 117068    An 87 year-old man received the FLU vaccine on 11/13/98.  (It says it was administered 1/13/98 but that the adverse event was one day later, and in the text it says he was admitted to the hospital on the 14th, which was one day later.  Consequently, I believe it was 11/13 not 1/13.)  Had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with exacerbation, and respiratory distress.  (Says he had had a respiratory infection on 10/18 but was symptom-free by the 28th.)  He died on the 15th, 2 days post vaccination.  (California)

VAERS ID 118637    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 10/30/98 at noon.  Four hours later she was fed and had a projectile vomiting event in which all the formula was expelled.  Later she was cranky and did not sleep at night.  She was constantly crying and had cold hands and feet. She died 15 days post vaccination.  (New York)

VAERS ID 118581    A 67 year-old woman received the YF vaccine on 1/11/98.  This is what it says:  "It was reported that a pt expired following vax".  She died 8 days post vaccination.  (Florida)

VAERS ID 118502    A 78 year-old woman received the FLU vaccine on 1/15/98.  9 days later admitted with flu-like symptoms.  Had underlying COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and went on to develop renal failure, pneumonia and respiratory failure, dying 21 days post vaccination.  (Iowa)

VAERS ID 117906    A 75 year-old man received the FLU vaccine on 11/30/98.  The following day he experience coldness, fever.  The next day he experienced hotness, collapsed and died.  (Utah)

VAERS ID 117527    A 61 year-old woman received the FLU vaccine on 9/11/98.  13 days later she experienced diarrhea.  8 hours later she had an upset stomach.  7 hours later she had dyspnea.  She died 70 days post vaccination.  (New York)

Added 7/10/01

VAERS ID 120411    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 10/8/98.  Apparently this was his second vaccine and he slept more than usual.  Then 3 days prior to his death he slept almost continuously.  On the day he died he only took 1 bottle all day.  At 8:30PM he woke up from sleep screaming, had a seizure, turned blue and then died in the ambulance approximately 15 minutes later.  He died 11 days post vaccination.  (Connecticut)

VAERS ID 120390/114427    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 9/15/98.  He or she died either 5 hours later or the next day.  Apparently, the information about the death was from an internet article which said the patient received the vaccine and then died.  The article indicates that an autopsy was performed and that the patient was found to have a swollen brain;  however, this finding was apparently absent from the autopsy report, as was information re: there having been a vaccination.  Said to have died of SIDS.  (New York)

VAERS ID 120393/119054    An infant received the HepB vaccine on 8/25/98.  It says the adverse event onset date was the same day.  As well as the following:  He seemed not very content, spitting up, acting like he had a headache.  Sometime after the vaccine he died in his mom's arms.  It says the date, time and causes of death were not specified.  "The article" did not indicate whether an autopsy was performed.  Also said the mother was threatened with murder charges by the sheriff.  (California)

Added 7/1/01

VAERS ID 125145/116883    A one year-old either received the HIBV and MMR vaccines, or the HIBV, MMR and DTaP vaccines (the two records are different).  4 days post vaccination she developed gasteroenteritis.  "Probably unrelated", it says.  She developed worsening emesis and diarrhea over 2 days.  Despite intervention, she subsequently went into shock and was taken to the ER, blue and pulseless.  She died that night, I presume, but don't know for sure, 6 days post vaccination.  (California)

VAERS ID 124694    A 31 year-old man received the FLU vaccine on 11/1/98.  A little over 3 months later he had a fever and mild upper airway symptoms. Then lower respiratory problems developed, with decreased oxygen.  Diagnosed with influenza, ruled out pneumonia.  He deteriorated to where he required intubation and ventilation support. Now pneumococcal pneumonia was diagnosed.  He went into shock.  His father requested no aggressive treatment and his son died.  The father refused an autopsy.  He died 141 days post vaccination. (Texas)

VAERS ID 127999    An 80 year-old received the PPV vaccine on 11/4/98.  The next day is when the adverse event onset was said to occur.  She developed an injection site reaction characterized by an area of redness, warmth, pain and swelling measuring 3 inches in diameter.  It says she died of causes unrelated to the vaccine.  Don’t know when she died, however.  (Michigan)

VAERS ID 127043    A one year-old received the MMR and VARCEL vaccines on 10/7/98.  75 days later he died of aspiration pneumonia.  (Wisconsin)

Added 6/21/01

VAERS ID 132114    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 6/16/98.  3 days later she was found dead on her side 5-8 minutes after being laid down for her morning nap.  Her parent believes her baby's death was a possible reaction to the vaccine.  The parent states she did not fit any of the SIDS risk factors except she had been vaccinated.  (Arizona)

Added 6/20/01

VAERS ID 117373    An eight year-old received the HepB vaccine on 10/28/98.  Two days later she died of septic shock.  (Says:  "This report being filed as a precaution; vaccine not believed to result in septic shock.")  She had fever, rigors.  Vomiting, diarrhea once, respiratory distress (saturations, shock, lethargy, apneic, cyanotic with poor effusion.  Chest compression after intubation.  Hypothermic, severe vomiting, poor perfusion of the limbs, head.  Autopsy - cause of death Waterhouse Syndrome.  (New York)

VAERS ID 133222    An infant received the DTPH, OPV and HepB vaccines on 5/22/98.  One hour after receiving the vaccines, she had a fever.  24 hours after the vaccines, she experienced shock; seemed very distant - all attentiveness disappeared.  29 hours after vaccination, she was excessively sleepy.  31 hours post vax she died.

Added 6/16/01    

VAERS ID 109562    An infant received the DTPH, OPV and HepB vaccines on 2/19/98.  Had had an unremarkable well-baby visit.  Was observed in the clinic for 30 minutes post vax; given acetaminophen prophylactically.  Found dead the next day.  Autopsy - SIDS.  (Military Base)

VAERS ID 114109/119736    An infant received the DTPH, IPV and HepB vaccines on 6/16/98.  8 days later she died.  Death certificate lists haemophilus influenzae/interstitial pneumonia.  (On 6/23/99 pt exp crankiness.) She was asymptomatic the night before she died.  Found dead in the morning.  Says "SIDS ruled out?".  (Autopsy=haemophilus influenza w/ intestinal pneumonia.) (Idaho)

VAERS ID 114918    An infant received the DTPH and OPV vaccines on 9/11/98.  19 days later she died of apparent SIDS; final autopsy pending.  (Connecticut)  

VAERS ID 113477    An infant received the DTPH and OPV vaccines on 7/29/98.  That say afternoon he became feverish and fussy (about 5-6 hours later), but was still feeding.  The next day he was taken to the ER in severe respiratory distress, grunting, with cyanosis, drawing in of chest, semi-comatose shock, afebrile.  He was intubated.  His white blood count was 49.2, segs polys 33% and lymph 61%,  He died the day following vaccination.  (American Samoa)

VAERS ID 119004    An infant received DT, HIBV and OPV on 11/20/98.  51 days later she died a sudden death of unknown cause; unable to resuscitate in ER.  (New Jersey)

VAERS ID 122252    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV and OPV vaccines on 12/2/98.  He coughed during that night.  Found unresponsive in bed at 5:00AM the next morning; CPR was initiated at home.  His pupils were fixed and dilated, there was not spontaneous breathing, and he had cool cyanotic skin.  Was unresponsive, apneic, went into cardiopulmonary arrest.  (Texas)

VAERS ID 122215    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 12/16/98.  5 days later she died of SIDS.  (New Hampshire)

VAERS ID 123167    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV and IPV vaccines on 4/15/98.  10 days later she died of SIDS.  (New Hampshire)

VAERS ID 117840    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV and IPV vaccines on 10/28/98.  It says she received the vaccine and experienced a slight fever, stretching, stiffening, cough, sniffles, very loose bowel movements, vomiting, odor on head. She died 5 days post vaccination.  (New Jersey)

VAERS ID 117867    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV and IPV vaccines on 11/27/98.  11 days later he was found cyanotic in crib.  (Minnesota)

VAERS ID 117973    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 12/7/98.  1 day later she was received in the emergency room in cardiac arrest.  Doesn't say when she died, but presume it was that day.  (New York)

VAERS ID 118520/117035/116802    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV and OPV vaccines on 11/18/98.  Two days later she died (SIDS).  (California)

VAERS ID 116883    A one year-old  received the DTaP, HIBV and MMR vaccines on 4/24/98.  On the fourth day following the vaccinations, she developed gastroenteritis (said it was probably unrelated.....).  Developed worsening emesis and diarrhea over 2 days.  Despite intervention, she subsequently went into shock and was take to the ER blue and pulseless. She died 6 days post vaccination.  (California)

VAERS IDS 115709    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV and IPV vaccines on 5/27/98.  3 days later the father got up at 3-4AM for work, the child was fine at that time and given formula.  When the mom woke at 5:30AM, she was dead.  The autopsy report was not received as  of October 23, 1998.  Heart disease felt to be a significant probably cause of death.  (Michigan)

VAERS ID 116344    A one year-old received the DTaP, OPV, HepB and MMR vaccines on 11/2/98.  5 days later she went into respiratory arrest and was taken to the hospital.  No prior problems had been noted.  She was normal and appeared healthy the day of the vaccination and not previous events were noted.  (Mississippi)

VAERS ID 116533    An infant received the DTaP, HBHepB and IPV vaccines on 10/21/98.  He had no known health problems.  At his two month vaccine, the only reaction was local redness, swelling of left thigh which subsided.  Only a slight fever post injection which was relieved, according to mom, with acetaminophen.  2 weeks later he was found dead at a local daycare.   CPR was performed;  autopsy revealed died of SIDS. He died 15 days post vaccination. (Mississippi)

VAERS ID 118525    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 12/23/98.  Approximately 1 hours post vaccination he was a little cranky and had a temp of 101, according to mom.  Gave acetaminophen and not other problems noted.  Does not say when died, but I think it was the same day since it says the adverse event occurred the day of the vaccination.  (Florida)

VAERS ID 118144    An infant received the DTaP,  HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 12/29/98.  3 days (65 hours later) he was found dead by mom.  Just two hours prior to his death his mom had fed him with no problems.  (Virginia)

Added 6/12/01

VAERS ID 113721  An infant received the DTaP, HIBV and IPV vaccines on 8/14/98.  9 days later he was found lifeless in bed;  his head was reported to have been wedged between the mattress and the wall.  (New Jersey)

VAERS ID 113301     An infant received the DTaP, IPV, HIBV and HepB vaccines on 4/22/98.  2 days later, he was sleeping between his two grandparents in the same bed.  The next day the grandparents awoke and noted that the infant was no longer breathing.  EMS called.  Infant taken to hospital.  Does not say, but assume he died on the 25th.  (North Carolina)

VAERS ID 119205    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 9/22/98.  Says onset of symptoms was 9/28/98 and that mom stated that week before death there was no apparent fever - only some fussiness and lack of appetite;  formula went from 7 oz. to 3-4 oz per feeding.  She died 7 days post vaccination.  (Michigan)

Added 6/11/01

VAERS ID 109219  An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 1/28/98.  The next day she died.  Mom reported she died between 7 and 10AM; was in bed with mom.  Mom reported she wondered about the shots causing this; was told by coroner that it was SIDS; reporter unsure whether autopsy done/complete.  (Tennessee)

VAERS ID 108072  An infant received the DTaP, IPV and HBHepB vaccines on 2/23/98.  Two days later she was found blue 2 hours past her last feeding; brought to ER, was cold, blue w/rigor present; intubated and given meds but remained asystolic and she died that day.  (New Mexico)

VAERS ID 108655    An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, HepB and IPV vaccines on 3/12/98.  The next day she was found dead in her crib (8:30AM);  parents had put her to bed at 11:30PM.  She had had her well baby check up done on the day of the shots and all findings were normal.  (North Carolina)

VAERS ID 108656     An infant received the DTaP, IPV, HIBV and HepB vaccines on 2/27/98.  He died six days later - presented to the ER in full C-R arrest.  (New York)

VAERS ID 108127     An infant received the DTaP, OPV and HIBV vaccines on 2/11/98.  The day before she had a temperature of 102 and had diarrhea.  The day of the vaccine she was afebrile, well-hydrated and had a normal physical exam.  After the vaccine she developed a fever.  6 days later she was unresponsive and at 9AM taken to the ER.  She was dead on arrival.  Autopsy performed, diagnosis SIDS.  (There is conflicting information to whether or not she died 4 or 6 days post vaccination.) (New Jersey)

VAERS ID 114230    An infant received the DTaP, IPV and HIBV vaccines on 9/10/98.  She was seen for her 4 month checkup and received the vaccines.  She died early evening that same day.  MD reports possible SIDS; vaccine related pending.  (Arizona)

VAERS ID 113800      An infant received the DTaP, HIBV, IPV and HepB vaccines on 7/25/98.  Four days later she died;  arrived at hospital dead on arrival; per pathologist probable SIDS.  (Missouri)

VAERS ID 107036  A one year-old received the DTaP, HIBV and MMR vaccines on 1/15/98.  On the 20th, I believe, he presented to the ER with refusal to walk, ataxia, developed seizures.  He required intubation during his hospital stay (for I don't know how long).  He had a CT scan which showed cerebral edema, herniation, and died.  Does not say when this child died.  (Georgia)

VAERS ID 114975  An infant received the DTaP, IPV and HIBV vaccines on 10/7/98.  I believe it was the next day that she was found pink but nonresponsive but could not be revived.  The previous night she had fed well.  It doesn't say when she died, but I think it was the day following the vaccines.  (New York)

VAERS ID 112467  An infant received DTP, HIBV, OPV and HepB vaccines on 4/22/98.  Within 7 hours the injection site was swollen and reddish.  For the next 12 hours she screamed inconsolably and alternatively fell fell into a deep sleep.  The next day she had diarrhea and took longer to finish her bottles, as the day went by her skin felt cold to the touch.  She later died.  Also had constipation.  She died 4 days post vaccination.  (California)

VAERS ID 119901  An infant received the Hepatitis B vaccine on 4/27/98.  Within 10 minutes he developed possible anaphylaxis with apnea and arm rigidity;  he was transferred from the nursery to a neonatal unit or (?) administered oxygen.  This illness was considered life-threatening.  He was hospitalized an unknown number of days.  It says he has recovered.  (Indiana)

 VAERS ID 119749  A 39 year-old received the Hepatitis B vaccine on 3/23/98.  Onset of symptoms began the same day - don't' know exactly when, but developed sores in both legs which made her bedridden, now disabled.  Diagnosed with lupus in April of 1998.  She was perfectly fine until she got the vaccine.  Previously had been a health care worker and was splashed in eyes with sputum from Hep B carrier.  This illness was considered life-threatening, and she is not disabled (?).  It says she has recovered, but it doesn't seem that disability and lupus is recovery.  (Texas)

VAERS ID 117529  A 43 year old received the Hepatitis B vaccine on 11/9/98.  Her symptoms started 3 days later.  She saw a doctor on the 17th for hepatitis; further testing, including liver biopsy, suggested autoimmune hepatitis; prednisone started on the 27th with marked improvement.  This illness was considered life-threatening and she HAS NOT recovered.  (Minnesota)

VAERS ID 116882  An infant received the Hepatitis B vaccine on 11/19/98.  The next day he developed a fever.  The next day he went to the ER.  He was treated with medicine (not named) and transferred to another hospital.  It says other meds are "Mylicon" - I assume this was prior to this event?  Another Hep B vaccine had been given 10/9/98.  This illness was considered life-threatening, the child was hospitalized, is considered disabled, and HAS NOT recovered.  (Alabama)

VAERS ID 116461  An infant received the Hepatitis B vaccine on 10/21/98.  Two days later, she had sudden onset of hemoptysis and hematuria.  She was taken to the hospital where she required a ventilator.  All testing was negative.  Many saw the patient and none could explain it.  Patient had a prolonged (13 day) stay at the hospital and recovered without any apparent permanent injury.  This illness was considered life-threatening.  (Pennsylvania)

VAERS ID 118644  A nineteen year old received the Hepatitis B vaccine on 9/17/98.  3 days later she had widespread pain on the right side of her body, a sinus infection.  A theumatologist (rheumatologist?), orthopedist (two different people?) diagnosed fibromyalgia;  says "symptoms worsen - physical therapy" - I don't know if that means they worse with physical therapy, or that because they worsened, she is getting physical therapy.  This illness was considered life-threatening and she is now considered disabled.  She HAS NOT recovered.  (New Jersey)

VAERS ID 115171  A twelve year old received MMR, TD and HepB vaccines on 6/9/98.  18 days post vaccination he had at temperature of 102-104;  for 4 months he had  a temperature, rash stiff neck, joint swelling and ongoing pain;  he was hospitalized with pericarditis in August w/abnormal ECHO (echocardiogram?) regarding two valves;  diagnosed systemic juvenile enteritis.  Had prior allergy to red dye and bees.  Was taking DDAVP (?).   This illness was considered life-threatening, he was hospitalized for 2 days, now is considered disabled.  He HAS NOT recovered.  (Ohio)

VAERS ID 115019  A two year old received the Hepatitis B vaccine on 9/14/98.  Right after being vaccinated, at home,  he became cranky with temperature.  He was given meds and the fever resolved.  Then he awoke at 10 PM with fever, stood up, fell and hit his head on the TV;  started a seizure; taken to the ER and intubated.  This illness was considered life-threatening, and the child was hospitalized for 3 days.  It says he has since recovered.  (California)

VAERS ID 118449  A sixteen year old received the Hepatitis B vaccine on 10/29/98.  That same day she experienced nausea, cramping, vomiting, hot flashes, headache, shooting pains/spasms in hands, eye pain; patient seen by specialists.  A UGI scope was done a inflammation of the duodenum was noted; bloodwork showed liver damage, a reduction of RBC.  This illness was considered life-threatening and she was hospitalized for 2 days.  She HAS NOT recovered.  (Florida)

VAERS ID 122670  An infant received the Hepatitis B vaccine and 16 hours post vaccination died.  She seemed fine immediately post vax, but a few hours later developed sudden difficulty in breathing which resembled convulsions; she didn't breath properly and appeared to be convulsing, and would not burp.  Then went to sleep fast.  Obviously this was a life-threatening condition and the infant did not recover.  (New York)

VAERS ID 114327 A one year old  received the Hepatitis B, Hib and DTaP vaccines on 4/15/98.  At 4 PM of that same day he was screaming, hyperventilating, shaking, seizing with his left side twitching.  He was taken to the ER.  Since this was reported in September I believe the following:  "hyperactive, has a temper w/high pitched screaming fits & lately has been banging head against wall; intubated; rt side weak" to mean this all happened since the vaccine.  This illness was considered life-threatening.  It says he was hospitalized for 5 days and HAS NOT recovered.  (Florida)

VAERS ID 112414 A 21 year old received the Hepatitis B Vaccine on 6/27/98.  15 minutes post vax he collapsed and then came to.  Was given oxygen and was noted to be in atrial fibrillation;  the patient was transferred to the hospital, then converted to sinus rhythm; his pulse rate remained above 120-130.  The next day the patient collapsed again;  this time his heart rate was below 40;  resuscitation was initiated.  This illness was considered life-threatening, and the patient was hospitalized (for I don't know how long).  It says the patient recovered.  The patient had a pre-existing Penicillin allergy.  (New Jersey)

VAERS ID 110241  An eleven year old received the Hepatitis B vaccine on 4/15/98.  She became ill that evening with a high fever, continuing with lethargy into the next day.  Symptoms include stomach cramps, fever, diarrhea, light sensitivity, hearing sensitivity, sore throat.  Lost 7 pounds.  Diagnosed on 5/14/98 with acute Epstein-Barr Virus with a white blood count of 10.4.  This illness was considered life threatening, resulting in disability.  She has HAS NOT recovered.  Apparently had a previous allergy to pertussis (I assume the vaccine).   (Florida)

VAERS ID 110787  An infant received DTaP, HIBV and HepB vaccines on 4/2/98.  Two days later he developed fever, vomiting, cough, increasing irritability.  Two days after than he was given a spinal tap, admitted to the hospital; the diagnosis was penumococcal meningitis with evidence of increased intracranial pressure.  The next day he was transferred to another hospital where he was intubated.  Says "LGA" newborn and had mild eczema; also that he had been exposed to a cousin with pneumonia 1 week ago.  For some reason was taking motrin;  also amoxicillin 2 weeks ago for sinusitis.  This illness was considered life threatening, and the child is considered disabled.  It says it is UNKNOWN whether or not the child ever recovered. VAERS ID 112223  An infant received DTaP, OPV, HIBV and the HepB vaccines on 3/18/98.   The next day he or she developed focal hemorrhages in subdural area;  the pediatric neurologist reporting this evaluated the patient and stated it looked like child abuse and diagnosed shaken baby syndrome.  A defense attorney alleges vaccine damage.  This illness was considered life threatening.  It is UNKNOWN whether or not this child ever recovered.  (Don't know what state lived in.)
